About the author
Paul Maxwell
Founder of AEO HQ, and of RevOps HQ, a HubSpot Solutions Partner. A PhD in philosophy, a decade in marketing, and CRM and revenue-systems engineering.
What he does now
Paul leads AEO HQ, which helps B2B companies get found in search and cited by AI assistants. Its reference articles are published under his name and follow the research standard described on the methodology page: every fact links its source, and findings that did not replicate are labelled as such.
Since 2025 he has run RevOps HQ, a HubSpot Solutions Partner in Boston. Most of its work is for private equity: diligence on a target's revenue systems before a deal, then consolidating CRMs across the portfolio and building the reporting that boards and operating partners rely on. It also works with venture-backed and founder-led companies preparing to scale or sell.
Background
Philosophy and publishing
Paul completed a PhD in philosophy and religious studies at Trinity Evangelical Divinity School in 2018. He taught Introduction to Philosophy at Moody Bible Institute from 2015 to 2017 and worked as an acquisitions editor for Moody Publishers. He wrote for Desiring God and in 2021 published The Trauma of Doctrine.
Marketing, then systems
He was marketing director at Tithe.ly (2018–2021) and at Neuros Agency in San Diego (2021–2023), where the team grew from three to ten people in a year. More of that work came from acquisitions: software due diligence on a target, then replacing the CRM after the deal closed. He then worked as a full-stack developer building on the HubSpot API (2023–2024) and as senior HubSpot and automation manager at Galactic Advisors (2024–2025).

How he works
In his words, the same habit runs through philosophy, marketing, and systems work: “find the assumption holding the thing up, and check it.” At AEO HQ that means testing AEO advice against the evidence; see what replicates.
